More Than a Christmas Dip
The COPE Galway Christmas Swim is about so much more than a splash in the sea.
Every sign-up, donation and act of fundraising helps COPE Galway support people experiencing homelessness, women and children affected by domestic abuse, and older people in our community.
When Galway comes together, that generosity makes a difference far beyond Christmas morning.
37 Years of Galway Making a Splash
Since 1989, generations of Galway families, friends and neighbours have gathered at Blackrock on Christmas morning. From familiar faces returning year after year to those taking their first dip, it's a much-loved tradition filled with community spirit, generosity and a little Christmas magic.
For many, Christmas Day wouldn't be the same without it. And even those far from home join in, keeping a little piece of Galway Christmas close to their hearts.
But at its heart, the Swim is about giving back. At a time when we celebrate all that we have, it's a chance to share that Christmas warmth with others in our community who need it most.
With thanks to our supporters
The COPE Galway Christmas Swim wouldn't be the same without the generosity of our sponsors, volunteers and the wider Galway community. Thank you for helping make this wonderful tradition possible.
