Please support our Donation Drive as part of International Women's Day in support of COPE Galway's Domestic Abuse Service.
International Women’s Day is Sunday the 8th March 2026 and this year’s theme is ‘Give to Gain. To mark this day we thought that staff might like to support local charity, COPE Galway's Domestic Abuse Service Modh Eile House, located on Foster Street. This charity offers day supports as well as a 24-hour helpline and safe refuge for women, and their children who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse.
Some of you may have unwanted Christmas or birthday gifts that you meant to re-gift or have tucked away in a press out of the way. If anyone would like to donate any unopened toiletries, feminine care products or unwanted presents to Modh Eile House there will be a box in the canteen from Monday 9th to Thursday 12th for you to leave your items in. If over the next few days or weeks you think of something new or unused with tags that you would like to donate that might make a difference to someone or provide comfort to someone availing of Modh Eile’s services please feel free to reach out to me.
There is also the option to make a donation to COPE Galway. Any contribution is very much welcome which will allow this local charity provide essential services for people who are experiencing homelessness, for women and children subjected to domestic abuse, and for older people so they can live healthy, independent lives. Your donations will help COPE Galway continue this work for those who need it most.
This is a great opportunity to come together to recognise International Women’s Day while supporting the important work COPE Galway do.
